About this site

Coming to a new country to work as an au pair for the first time is a big challenge.  You may be worried about how you will get on with your host family, and whether you will be able to find and make new friends who can help and support you.

The British Au Pair Agencies Association (BAPAA) “find a friend” website helps you get in contact with other BAPAA au pairs, either already working in the UK or about to arrive.  You can contact other BAPAA au pairs living in your area, or find other au pairs in the UK from your own country.

All you have to do is register with a few simple details - its FREE!  Then you can search the existing database, and quickly and safely be in e-mail contact with other members in your area, or from your country.  In order to register you will need a password from your BAPAA agency in the UK, so please contact them if you have not already been provided with one.

How does the "find a friend" website work? allows BAPAA au pair members to make contact with each other by email.  No host family address or telephone details appear on the site.  The only information needed from the au pair is his/her name, nationality, age, village, town or city in the UK, UK postcode and email address (the email address and UK postcode do not appear on the site).  We also have very strict safety rules to which you will have to agree.  When you receive an email from a new contact, simply "reply" to send an email back to them.

Au pair members' email addresses are only revealed if they choose to email another au pair member.  Search results will reveal information as shown below:
